Railway Recruitment 2018-19 (ALP-Technicians)

Railway Recruitment 2018 will be held to recruit candidates to the post of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. Railway Recruitment Board conducts this examination every year giving candidates a golden opportunity to fulfill their dreams of joining the prestigious Government Sector. According to Railway Recruitment Notification 2018, a single application is to be submitted (common to all posts - ALP & Technicians) by all candidates who wish to apply for the mentioned posts.

RRB ALP Exam Dates 2018-19

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the new exam dates for the second stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for ALP & Technicians Exam. RRB ALP 2nd stage of examination will be conducted on 21st, 22nd and 23rd January 2019. The deatiled Exam Dates for Railway Recruitment Exam 2018-19 are discussed below:

RRB ALP Admit Card for Computer Based Aptitude Test

RRB ALP Admit Card for Computer Based Aptitude Test will be released soon by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Candidates can download admit card by clicking on the link mentioned below.
Railway Recruitment Notification 2018 was released on 3rd February 2018. According to the Notification released, a total of 26,502 vacancies was declared. Railway ALP 2018 Application Fee

The Online Application for Railway Recruitment starts from 3rd February 2018 and will end on 31st March 2018. Candidates must pay Rs. 500/- as application fee (UR & OBC) for Railway Recruitment 2018. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward class are required to pay Rs. 250/- as application fee.
As per the notification released by Railway Recruitment Board recently, a total of Rs. 400/- will be refunded to candidates belonging to unreserved category who appear in the exam. rs. 250/- will be refunded to candidates belonging to reserved categories if they appear in the exam. The initiative is taken by the Railway Recruitment Board to ensure maximum participation of candidates.

Railway Recruitment Vacancy 2018

A total of 64,371 posts are to be filled through Railway Recruitment 2018. Around 27,795 vacancies are declared for the post of Loco Pilot (ALP) and around 36,576 vacancies are declared for the post of Technicians. Detailed vacancy for Railway Recruitment 2018 is mentioned below.

Railway Recruitment 2018 Exam Pattern

The Exam Pattern for Railway Recruitment 2018 constitutes of two stages of CBT or Computer Based Test followed by Computer Based Aptitude Test(Relevant Trade) and Document Verification. Let's have a look at both these stages of CBT in detail.
First stage of CBT

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%
Will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions: in 15 languages (Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu)
There will be negative Marking as for every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

Second Stage of CBT
PART-A

PART-B

This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET)

Computer Based Aptitiude Test (for Candidates who have opted for ALP)

The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
The ALP merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT
Document Verification

TECHNICIAN POST
Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT

ALP POST

Based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.
Note: Candidates attempting to submit application more than once will be disqualified or debarred from the examination.

Railway Recruitment 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of Railway Recruitment 2018 exam is mainly about two pre-requisites:

Railway Recruitment Board has changed the Eligibilty Criteria for Railway Recruitment 2018. The Upper Age limit has now been changed from 28 years to 30 years for the post of ALP and from 30 years to 33 years for the post of Level 1 Posts (Unreserved Category).

 

 

Candidates who have passed out with Physics and Maths in 12th Standard are eligible for Technician Grade III Signal and Technician Grade III Telecommunication posts namely Post 70 and Post 71 respectively.
A candidate is required to be: A citizen of India, A subject of Nepal, A subject of Bhutan, A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India or a person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam and have the intention of settling permanently in India
